Copperhead Canyon Ranch has only
one purpose, the rescue of horses and mules destined for slaughter in Mexico. The intire cost of purchase, transporting
the animals from the killer pens, their veterinary and farrier expenses and feed has been paid by the two owners from their
personal accounts. The rescued horses live out their remaining days on the ranch. They are not sold, given away
or adopted out.
The ranch currently has 21 horses and 2 mules, all rescued from the slaughter
pens or cruelty cases.
Due to advancing ages and recent injuries, the owners are
experiencing difficulties meeting the mounting financial obligations in maintanining this haven for discarded animals.
Donations to help keep this rescue operation going can be made by check
payable to Copperhead Canyon Ranch Rescue Fund at Route 2, Box 66-C,
Wellston, OK 74881
